Anne Phung Nguyen

Anne Phung Nguyen, a Vietnamese American businesswoman, lives in Orange County California. I have a lovely fiance called JP as well as hapless father Henry. Most people know me via my Instagram @annephung where I document my life - highs and lows, as well as all in between. In 1990 I moved to America together with my parents and brother when I turned one and half. If it wasn't for my parents' devotion to dedication and hard work and sacrifice, I wouldn't be with you sharing my journey. Given the chance to live the best life possible I wanted to try my best to please them. I determined to achieve my goals. I had a set plan in life: go to university, get a job, marry, purchase a house and have kids. While I believed this was the standard for the ideal life, reality had other goals. When I was in 2013, I started dreading going to my corporate job. The money and the status was not bringing me joyand I was feeling like I was wasting my time and energy for a paycheck but I knew that I had a destiny. The year 2013 was when I discovered that my true passion was working out. I also enjoyed socializing and being able to help others. As I moved towards this new direction in life, I started to find private training. The business I started in the year 2014. It is my seventh anniversary in this calendar year. It's not common to see an Asian woman in this business. As a coach, I want to be a positive influence by providing quality training to aid others to become more healthy and happy. Additionally, I would like everyone to be able to pursue their goals and be able to achieve whatever it is they wish for throughout their lives. As my career started to grow, I was struck by the most devastating loss of my life - my mom's loss of life. She won her eight-year fight with Scleroderma. She is now resting in Heaven, and I keep her in my heart. The universe has a way with giving us exactly what we need even if we're not able to see the lesson at the time. There are many ways that my mother's passing changed me. I truly believe she provided me with another chance to be a part of her story after she passed away. In the morning of Tet/Lunar New Year Day, she passed away. It was now time to go on to her next chapter and for me to have the chance to live one that was meaningful and enjoyable. As I approach my 30s I feel a sense that I am alive and living. I don't feel that I'm just another number. My goal in the story I am sharing is to let you know that, you are not the only one. I want you to be aware that love exists and that therapy can be normal. Your health is your greatest asset. My prayer is to live your the life you want to live and have your final resting place is not a regret, since that's the only thing we can count on during this lifetime.
